In the case of nurse managers, the major point of contention is how the manager can he held responsible for damages caused by nurses working under them.
Wilkinson (2016) notes that the nursing manager has a duty to ensure that nursing staff provide the highest level of care and that failure to do so can result in legal liabilities in the event of patient injury. While legal liabilities may be unavoidable in certain circumstances, it is imperative that nurse managers take necessary precautions to avoid legal liabilities to the greatest extent possible.
